We believe that adoption is a wonderful way to build families. We know that adoption is a lifelong process that impacts all of the adoption triad (birth parents, adoptive parents and the adopted person) at specific times in their lives.

Chinese New-Year Celebration

This event is hosted by Families with Children from China of Chippewa Valley. Please feel free to bring any simple craft projects or coloring pages for the kids. We will have a donation basket to help cover the cost of any craft materials purchased.

Sensory Integration in Adoption and Foster Care Workshop
Thursday, February 9th
6:00-8:00 pm
L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library
Eau Claire, WI

Melissa Haas, Occupational Therapist at SPOTS house of St. Joseph's Hospital will present the basics of sensory integration and sensory processing disorder including causes, symptoms and possible remediation. She will also include ways to help foster sensory development with changes in environment and ways to prevent sensory distress with changes in environment.

Addressing Challenging Behaviors of Children Who Have Experienced Trauma
Tuesday, April 17th
6:00-8:00 pm
Onalaska Public Library
Onalaska, WI

This FREE training will look at the challenging behaviors that foster/adoptive children can display by looking at possible root causes followed by potential strategies to address behaviors and facilitate the healing process. This training will be presented by Diane Hietpas, MSE. Diane has 27 years in teaching special needs and is also a foster parent.
